Tempting...

I am sitting in the Nelson's living room in Pine Island thinking Cheryl hasn't made any blog posts lately, should I be searching for some more blackmail photos?

Hand Me the Want Ads

Carol was just asking me a few days ago how the economy is doing around here and I told her it was was bad but hadn't really affected anyone I knew directly-I was wrong! My boss called me yesterday to let me know that our school is being closed May 31st since so many parents are pulling their kids from school as they lose their jobs. So I go back to work Monday for a few more months and I have no idea what is waiting for me next. I had the best job, boss and school for my kids to attend for free and I know I will not find that set up anywhere else so it is pretty depressing. I am one of only four contract employees at our school so I am garanteed a job until the end but as parents find their kids new schools and pull them from our school early other teachers will be forced to leave early. I am hoping for some wonderful situation to come my way but am very doubtful!

No more homework!

I know everyone has seen my many posts complaining of homework for the last year but I am really done now! My Montessori diploma is in the mail according to my teacher and I finally handed in that huge project last week for my Early Childhood Associates Degree. After all the work involved in the project (It was a huge hanging file folder filled with assignments, articles, lesson plans and other things) my teacher quickly flipped through the file folder to make sure there was something in every folder, took a couple of the papers out for a two second glance and that was it. She never wrote anything down or did anything that resembled grading. She said "This is the first time I have made my students bring this in to show me!"

So much for global warming!

Here is a pic of Charlie wearing the hat Aunt Danielle made for him. It fits so perfectly it is as if she has her own little model to try these hats out on! I know what you are thinking, it is warm in Florida why is wearing a hat but actually the high today is 52 and we have a freeze warning tonight! The news channels are going crazy with live updates from local strawberry farms who are afraid to lose their crops tonight!

The Park

After going to the Doctors on Monday we stopped at the park and I put Charlie in the infant swing which he loved! He was smiling laughing. Kadence was very excited to push him(a little too vigorously for my liking) and she loved swinging alongside him. It is so fun to watch siblings together!

1 More Week!

Well, I have another week before I start work. I took Charlie to the Doctor on Monday to get his paperwork for school and he had a nasty ear infection and they gave him a nebulizer treatment in the office. I was hoping his lungs were stronger than his sister's but looks like they will both need breathing treatments when they get sick! So both kids have colds so we are staying home and trying to get well and we will attempt to go back next week. Unlike his sister, when he does not feel well he screams relentlessly. He had a scream-a-thon last night and I was at my wits end when miraculously he stopped moments before Bryce walked through the door. He was angelic and giggly when he saw his dad and I was almost disappointed that he stopped because I felt like Bryce would not believe what kind of night I had just had!

Congrats to Willow!

I was reading the Parade magazine insert from the Sunday paper and it had an article about initials affecting your longevity. You will live the longest (+ 4 years)if your initials are ACE WIN WOW or VIP. Congrats to Willow Nelson who will be outliving us all with 2 out of the 3 initials.
Cheryl might I suggest you having another child and naming her Violet Indigo Priest. I am sure Kevin would be thrilled and you would have someone to care for you when you can no longer take care of yourself. (Which according to John must be soon since he thinks you are so old!)

Anyone with the initials RAT BUM SAD and DUD has a slightly shorter expected lifespan (-3 years) and must endure a lifetime of jokes made about the initials. Beware of what you name your children!
