Bryce's dreams come true

As you can see here, Bryce's dreams have come true recently. He purchased this leather recliner which I wake him up from at 2:00am almost every single morning and his new baby is a 50inch super-mega-fancy-smancy-doohicky tv. Now that he has the life he has always wanted, I expect that if I stop cooking his meals, he will no longer need me at all. (Has anyone noticed that every member of this family has there own sweet new room except for me? I mean cut me a break here I spent 24 hours a day growing a whole other person, don't I deserve something?!)

A quote

For some reason this wierd Nelsonian family quote has been trapped in my brain all week so I have to get it out.....
Pattison, Pattison, Cheryl Pattison, someday she'll add-a-son.

Furniture!

Here is Kadence enjoying her new corner desk and bookcase. That is her dresser right next to it. She has colored many pictures at the desk and it has only been there for 1 day. Charlie's clothes have been moved into her old dresser and it is packed! I didn't realize all the things that he already has. I actually think he should be set on clothes for a while! It was fun to go through Kadence's old clothes and pull out things that he could wear too. Its hard to imagine her being so tiny. Now when I pick her up from the church kids corner they tell me how amazing she is because when she uses the potty she doesn't allow ANY help at all! (They make the kids at her school use the restroom on their own so she is used to it but it still amazes me!)

Working on the Big Girl Room

Bryce painted the big girl room and Kadence helped hang her name up on the wall. She is very excited to see the progress. The main things are done and now we need decorations and detail stuff like curtain rods and curtains.

Kisses

There is nothing quite like looking up and your child is holding a dead lizard and smooching it on the mouth. She found the dead lizard in her new room and "caught" it. She held and kissed it and then we put it outside on a tree so it could reunite with it's family. When we went to look for it later it was gone because "it probably ate a bug and feels better" and apparently came back to life. Although this lizard was dead, she has become quite the expert at catching live ones and has been catching them on the playground almost daily. Her teachers are amazed at her mad lizard catching skills.

Redecorating

Well we picked out paint and painted the baby's room and I went out on a limb and hung up a name. I told Bryce that I still reserve the right to change the name when I see the baby just in case he doesn't look like a Charlie, but for now this is it. For those who don't know this, we called Kadence by her name for a couple months before her birth and when I saw her it struck me "This little girl is an Ashley if I ever saw one!" I felt like I couldn't change her name at that point but I always wondered. Needless to say, Bryce seemed pretty excited when he saw the name because that makes it more official. Kadence's new bedroom is on the decorating and painting agenda for this week so hopefully I will have some pictures soon. Bryce has redecorated the living room with a recliner and new tv so hopefully I will get the bedroom that I have always wanted sometime soon.

The brave girl

Here is Kadence petting and looking at the everglades rat snake. The zookeeper was impressed at how whe handled it gently.

A day at the zoo!

Kadence and I went to the zoo yesterday. She loved feeding the animals and could not understand why the goats were not kissing her. She spent lots of time trying to get a smooch directly on the lips. She brushed them and walked around hugging them all. She fed the lorikeets, budgies and loved petting the everglades rat snake. We went on the sky ride and it brokedown while we were on it. We dangled in the hot Florida sun for fifteen minutes and Kadence fell asleep somehow. She woke up four hours later at home in bed wondering why we didn't feed the giraffes or pet the stingrays!

Florida is gross!

Every year around August the reptiles around here seem to multiply and occassionally end up in our house. Today I found a very small snake about 3 inches long and maybe just 1 or 2 mm wide called a thread snake.(Gross!) I would take a picture of him but the thought of his escape is simply too much for my mind to handle right now. I freaked out but Kadence got excited and picked it up to keep as her very own friend. His name is Squirrel and he lives in a tupperware container on my coffee table. I can't wait to release him into the wild but for now Kadence is not cool with that idea. She wants him to live here because she loves him. I am just thankful that I have a kid who can tend to disgusting bugs and other things that I don't want to go near. I hope Bryce does not find out that Steve Irwin is her biological father.

The bump

I have been notoriously neglectful of belly pics with this baby so here is one picture for the records. 31 weeks. I am half finished painting the nursery a really cool blue color so I am actually accomplishing something this weekend! Kadence is in between bedrooms right now and is not sure what to call the new baby's bedroom since it has been hers for 3 years and now she is giving it up and moving into a new room.
