Welcome home Snowflake!

Well, for those of you who didn't know, our bunny snowflake chewed a hole through the garden screen and escaped last Monday or Tuesday when we were at Chris and Burts partying like rock stars. Kadence and I made a few posters and posted them down the block and alerted all the neighbors that we know. I told her to be hopeful but deep down I didn't believe that we would ever see her again. Well tonight we got a call from someone who trapped a bunny in a milk crate in their backyard after they saw our poster. We got her back and we are so excited! This bunny is getting a collar ASAP! She was literally 3 houses away (someone I didn't know and did not stop and talk to about our missing bunny) He said she had been hanging around his place for about a week now and he had been putting carrots out for her in the yard. Before we got the phone call this evening Kadence begged me to take her to the pet store and she held all the bunnies and kissed them and told me how much she missed Snowflake. As a small consolation, I bought her another fish, a betta named Polka-Dottie. This morning we had 1 pet and now we have 3! (One reason I couldn't believe someone really found our bunny is because some drunk dude who apparently "loves me" said he happened to see a bunny hopping around at 1:30am Friday night and since my poster told him to call me, he did. Needless to say, I have already gone and taken down all the posters) We are having the best night ever around here!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Bryce! You are the best darn husband and Babba in the whole wide world! We love you!

Goo Boy-updated

Well, we have decided to be a little healthier around here and vowed to eat a vegan dinner at least once a week. We did the first official dinner (mushroom risotto) and it was a hit, especially with Kadence who basically only likes vegetables and super-processed meat products like hot dogs. We will see how this goes. If you have any ideas for meals we are up for them!

On an unhealthy note, Charlie has had some nasty allergy issues which have kept him rubbing at his nose and eyes and now he has a ridiculously bad case of pink eye. Kadence says we should start calling him Goo Boy. He looks extra pathetic and feels gross and this just happens to correlate with us deciding yesterday that he is getting cut off from drinking from a bottle. We had a bit of a rough day! I learned from the doctor today that he weighs 30 lbs! I needed to double the amount of allergy meds he gets.(no wonder they haven't been working) Kadence better watch out because in 1 more pound they will be evenly matched.

Goo boy has a double ear infection! That explains the extreme misery he has been in. Apparently he falls into the category of the 10% of children with ear tubes that will still get ear infections. ggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Ok, I will stop complaining now.

Happy Birthday Kiki!

Once I got Carol a birthday cake that said "Your how old?" and Bryce has gotten one from me that said "AARP Here I come!"(The lady at the bakery was sad when I made my request and let me know that she had recently applied for her AARP card.) So to you Crystal, I say Happy Birthday and you should be happy that you live too far away for me to get you a cake!

Jam

Chris and I made lots and lots of strawberry jam this week. I have always wanted to try it and strawberries were $1.25 a pack this week. I haven't tried any yet, but they look so pretty I may never open them! This picture shows round one which was freezer jam, round two was cooked jam.
